This is me and I am the actor in The paranormal. I am an appropriate character for the film and genre. With the horror genre being predominantly young males, it is effective to have a young male as the protagonist, this is because when the audience watch the trailer they can relate to the character as he is similar to them, this means that each time the character gets attacked or threatened the audience will be more scared as they will be thinking it could happen to them.
